Whether you decide you need life insurance or not, below we clear up some of the most common misunderstandings about life insurance. Myth #1: I don’t need life insurance. I have some through my job. Truth:  Life insurance offered through your employer is a great benefit–while you have it. If you leave your company, the life insurance coverage doesn’t leave with you. May Marketplace 2021 Special Enrollment Period Report Now Available

Healthcare.gov: May Marketplace 2021 Special Enrollment Period Report   Today, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released a new report that shows that more than 1 million new and returning consumers have health coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace that costs $10 or less per month after advance payments of premium tax credits (APTC) following the April 1 implementation of the American Rescue Plan’s (ARP) expanded APTC. Of the 1,034,624 consumers who selected a Marketplace plan with premiums of $10 or less per month, after APTC, 687,275 were returning consumers and 347,349 were new consumers. This means 4 in 10 (43%) new consumers and 3 in 10 (30%) returning consumers and more than one third (34%) of all consumers have selected a plan of $10 or less per month following the implementation of ARP expanded APTC. Covid-19 Expands Life Insurance Purchases Beyond Wealthy

While the number of policies sold had their biggest quarterly gain in almost 40 years, the average size shrank, reflecting sales to those with smaller incomes. U.S. households from a range of incomes are buying more life-insurance policies than in years past. The number of life-insurance policies sold jumped 11% in the first quarter from a year earlier, the biggest gain since 1983, according to the industry research firm Limra. The boost extends the sales increases that began last year as deaths related to Covid-19 led many consumers to buy coverage. As the number of policies sold climbed, the average death benefit shrank by 4% to $270,000. The decline indicates that the industry sold more policies to households with smaller incomes, said David Levenson, Limra’s chief executive. “It implies that we are reaching a larger percentage of the 102 million uninsured and underinsured Americans who believe they need coverage or need additional co
