Failing to execute these new rules will make your lead-generating activities non-compliant and jeopardize your business, so please read the blog’s contents closely.
FCC Efforts
https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/DOC-399082A1.pdf
The FCC’s new rules aim to curb robotexts by:
- Blocking Problematic Numbers: The FCC can now require carriers to block texts from flagged numbers.
- Expanding Do-Not-Call Protections: Do-Not-Call list protections now apply to text messages.
- Opt-In for Email-to-Text: Providers must make email-to-text services opt-in to limit unwanted messages.
- Closing the Lead Generator Loophole: Lead generators must obtain separate consent for each seller, rather than blanket consent for multiple marketers.
- Future Actions: The FCC is considering further steps, including additional blocking measures and text message authentication to combat fraud.
These rules aim to reduce illegal robotexts and improve consumer protections.
FTC Efforts
