Marketplace Open Enrollment Period Report Shows Changes This Year
On 11/22/24, CMS released its Open Enrollment Report, showing nearly 496K new consumers have signed up for 2025 ACA coverage. This is down from last year’s report of 920K new consumers. Total enrollment numbers so far are 2.5 million, compared to 4.5 million at this time last year.Oscar Adds Baptist Health in South Florida
Starting 1/1/2025, Baptist Health System will be in-network with Oscar. This adds to Oscar’s existing partnerships with providers like AdventHealth and UHealth.For more, visit thePlan Documents section of Oscar’s broker portal.
Georgia Access Introduces Agent Connect
Georgia’s state-based exchange has launched its version of Help On Demand, called Agent Connect! Agents can start receiving leads from the exchange after accepting the Terms of Use and the Georgia Access Acceptable Use Policy. North Carolina Bans NPN Override
To combat fraud, the North Carolina Department of Insurance has banned the use of NPN override. From now on, all enrollments in North Carolina must use the writing agent’s NPN.Earnings Updates: Aetna, Oscar, and Elevance
Aetna: Anticipates a 10%+ decline in MA enrollment and expects to cut 20–25% of ACA lives.
Oscar: Reports its MLR is trending toward the higher end of expectations. The company is focusing on ICHRA, chronic condition plans, tech-first HMOs, and Spanish-first plans.
Elevance: Reports 30% year-over-year ACA growth but notes challenges in Medicaid and plans to make certain MA products non-commissionable.

For agents in Tennessee, BCBSTN now offers Medicare and Medicaid eligibility verification in its portal, with additional updates coming soon for Medicaid levels and LIS.

CMS has released the Low-Cost Silver Plan Premium Lookup Table for 2025 to help employers determine the affordability of ICHRA offers.
