If you sell ACA plans, the Marketplace registration and training for the 2026 Plan Year is officially open! This action applies to:
- New agents and brokers
- Returning agents and brokers who didn’t complete training for the 2025 Plan Year.
The SHOP agreement and optional SHOP training are also available if you work in the small group space.
For New Agents
New agents without a CMS Enterprise Portal account will need to do the following first:
- Create your CMS Enterprise Portal account
- Request the Agent/Broker Training Access role
- Complete remote identity proofing through the IDM system
- Set up your agent/broker profile on the MLMS via the CMS Portal
For Returning Agents
Once you complete the steps above, or if you already have a login and password for the system, here are the steps everyone needs to complete for 2026 registration:
- Log in to the CMS Enterprise Portal.
- Update your MLMS agent/broker profile.
- Complete the annual Marketplace training.
- Read and accept the Marketplace Agreement(s).
- Print your 2026 Registration Completion Certificate.
- Confirm your registration using the Registration Completion List.
Use the Marketplace Registration Tracker to track your progress.
Training Options
You have two ways to complete training:
- Directly through MLMS (CMS platform)
- Through an approved vendor: HealthSherpa or INSXCloud
If you choose a vendor, you still need to return to MLMS to finalize registration.
And good news: Marketplace training will also be available in Spanish later this year.
Help On Demand
Once you finish training and sign your agreements, you can also opt in to Help On Demand, a referral system that connects you with consumers in real time who are looking for Marketplace help in your area.
To participate, log back into MLMS the next business day after completing registration and training, then take the Help On Demand training.

Attention ACA agents: Today marks the official closing of the 2025 Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM) certification training from CMS. If you didn’t complete this year’s training, time is up, and now it’s time to look ahead.
What’s Next?
According to a recent notice from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas, the 2026 FFM certification training will launch in the coming weeks. This training is mandatory for all agents and brokers who plan to sell on-exchange 2026 Individual and Family Plans (IFPs).
Why It Matters
CMS requires annual certification under 45 CFR §§ 155.220 and 155.260, and without it, you can’t assist clients with ACA Marketplace coverage or receive compensation for enrollments.
