Agility is excited to share our Medicare partners’ 2026 Agent Certification process for Medicare agents. Today, we are sharing the process for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX). It begins with the AHIP process, which is now live for all Medicare agents to access.
The AHIP training meets the CMS requirement for all Medicare agents to complete annual training to sell Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs). Without this CMS certification, you cannot market, sell, or receive commissions for Medicare Advantage and PDPs.
The BCBSTX Certification Process
The Blue Cross certification training has two parts, and both parts must be completed to sell BCBSTX.
- Part 1: AHIP curriculum that’s available now
- Part 2: Blue Cross Medicare OptionsSM curriculum (coming soon)
All individual agents selling Medicare Advantage, D-SNP, and PDP products, including sub-producers, agencies, and agency principals, must complete the certification training to sell the listed BCBSTX Medicare products. Sub-producers will only complete certification once the agency principal completes their individual and agency certification tasks.
Start Your AHIP Training
- Enter your access credentials
- New users only: Click “Create an Account” and enter your NPN. Follow the screen prompts to set up your account.
- Returning users: Enter your User ID and National Producer Number (NPN) without leading zeros
- Password: Existing password
- Click on the 2026 AHIP training to access the AHIP platform to purchase the training and begin the first course. Contracted producers pay a discount rate of $125. Click here to apply for this special discount.
Important Dates & Deadlines
- Now, begin Part 1 and the AHIP curriculum
- July 2 – 8 (tentative): Blue Cross Medicare Options certification platform goes offline for maintenance
- July 8–9 (tentative): Part 2 of the Blue Cross Medicare Options curriculum launches. You’ll receive an email confirming when it goes live.
- October 1: Deadline to certify. Complete your 2026 MAPD/PDP certification to avoid disruption to your business and maintain certification status.
- October 15: AEP begins. You’ll need to log back into the certification site and review the Medicare Producer Amendment to get 2026 compensation information. It will be ready by October 15, and you will be notified when it is prepared.
- December 7: AEP ends
- December 20: Deadline to certify for renewal commissions that apply to all prior year renewals.
