The 2027 CMS plan data reveal new organizations entering the Medicare Advantage market. Four new MA organizations offer 1 HMO MA plan in 11 Oklahoma counties, 4 HMO MAPD plans across 7 Idaho counties, 1 HMO MAPD plan across 3 Washington counties, and 1 HMO and 2 C-SNP plans in Harris County, Texas.
These 4 new MA organizations join 6 current MA organizations that are expanding their MA coverage to 440 counties nationwide in 2027. This coverage doesn’t include PDP, special needs plans, or cost plans.
What you see in the information linked above is medium-sized regional MA organizations expanding their footprint, with one expanding into new areas beyond its current region. The Medicare Agent Bottomline
So what does all of this mean for Medicare agents? New MA Opportunities are out there, but they’ll be more regional or locally focused.
For this reason, not all markets will have new or more MA plan options. A strong, substantial portfolio of Medicare supplement and ancillary coverage options will be especially important in these markets to address clients who need these as their best coverage option.
