UnitedHealthcare Leaving the Georgia ACA Marketplace Effective January 1, 2027

UnitedHealthcare is leaving the Georgia ACA Marketplace on January 1, 2027. All current Georgia UnitedHealthcare ACA Marketplace plan members have their ACA coverage through the end of 2026 and will need to find alternative health coverage for a January 1, 2027, effective date.

UnitedHealthcare will continue to offer off-exchange plans to Georgians effective January 1, 2027.

What This Means to Georgia ACA Agents?

Any Georgia ACA Marketplace agents with UnitedHealthcare ACA Marketplace plan members need to contact these clients immediately to let them know you’re here for them in this time of change. Have a set of questions ready for them to clarify their top healthcare needs and concerns on January 1, 2027.

Agents should also confirm their eligibility to continue on ACA Marketplace coverage in 2027, ensuring the client can meet any new ACA eligibility requirements that take effect on January 1, 2027. If these clients have CSR or premium subsidies, review the new 2027 eligibility requirements with them so they understand which new documents they need to provide to you to qualify for these items again starting on January 1, 2027.

Georgia ACA agents should begin researching all 2027 health coverage options for these UnitedHealthcare ACA clients to meet as many of their needs and wants as possible. Consider all possible options available in Georgia for them in the coming days, so you can tell them definitively that all available options were considered before you determine the 3 best options you present to them before OEP starts on November 1.
