Sonder Health Plans, Inc. is now in receivership pursuant to an order of the Superior Court of Fulton County, issued on August 13, 2025. The receivership will close Sonder Health Plans, Inc. and terminate all operations and health plans on October 1, 2025.
Key Details for Your Sonder Clients
- A Special Enrollment Period (SEP) runs from August 13 to October 31, 2025, for new Medicare health coverage.
- Critical Deadline: Sonder members must enroll in new Medicare health coverage by midnight on September 30, 2025, or they will automatically revert to Original Medicare and be auto-enrolled in a Part D prescription drug plan.
- On October 1, 2025, all Sonder Health Plans terminate.
- Sonder Health SEP enrollment closes October 31, 2025.
- Sonder members may also make changes during Medicare Annual Enrollment, which runs through December 7, 2025, if they wish to modify their Medicare health coverage.
- All providers must continue seeing Sonder members and request only the cost share required by their coverage at the time of service, according to the Georgia Insurance Commissioner’s Office.

The majority of Sonder’s membership resides in Fulton, Gwinnett, DeKalb, Cobb, and Clayton counties.
We encourage you to proactively reach out to your Sonder Health Plan clients immediately. Assist them in using their SEP to enroll in new Medicare health coverage before October 1, 2025, to ensure continuity of coverage and minimize disruption.
