Twas the Night Before ACA OE and I Should Be Doing……..What?

What are we doing the week before ACA OE starts?

You should attend the Agility ACA OE Kickoff events: October 30 in English or October 31 in Spanish.  Hear from carriers about their benefits, HealthSherpa on its latest and the most recent intel on where great selling opportunities are across the nation.
Click here to register for the English event, or here for the Spanish event.

ACA agents should know the top carriers and plans in their markets.
If you don’t, reach out to Agility TODAY and we’ll be happy to talk you through what we hear about the carriers in each state regarding the ACA.  Agility may also share what we hear about ACA plans by markets or larger counties across the nation – if you reach out to us today!

Agility offers another resource this week through your email inbox. Throughout the week, in the weeks to come, we’ll send our thoughts about the ACA plans by state for each region. If you have NOT contracted with the top carriers in your area/ market, please reach out to Agility today to get access to these top carriers ASAP.

ACA agents that use HealthSherpa should reference this blog and use the CMS approved “Resume Link” to fix this problem in the process. You want to hit on all cylinders from the start and this is one miss you can avoid!

Finally, Agility wants you to know about these major changes for ACA OE 2025:

1. Extended Enrollment Window

The ACA OE has been extended by an additional two weeks, running from November 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025.

2. Improved Income Verification Process

Streamlining the income verification process makes it easier for consumers to receive accurate subsidies.  The 2025 verification system enhances better sync to IRS data, resulting in fewer post-enrollment verifications and smoother subsidy calculations.

3. Expanded Eligibility for Special Enrollment Periods (SEPs)

Consumers who face sudden job losses, major life changes, or even significant medical conditions will have more opportunities to sign up outside the normal OE.  This change allows agents to assist more clients year-round, beyond the typical open enrollment period to reduce coverage gaps for vulnerable populations.

4. Lower Out-of-Pocket Costs for Low-Income Individuals

Clients with incomes between 100% and 250% of the federal poverty level will have lower deductibles, co-pays, and coinsurance.  You’ll want to make eligible clients aware of these new cost-saving measures, as they improve both affordability and access to care.

There are more changes to talk about, and Agility is here to help answer any question you have about these changes and everything else ACA OE!
