Create and Register an Account

HealthSherpa guides agents through account creation and registration in four easy steps. This web page also includes a “Frequently Asked Questions” section for agents to use if they have any questions or issues.

Add Your Medicare Contracts

Once you’re registered on the platform, add your contracted carriers. HealthSherpa guides you through entering your Medicare contracts step by step on this web page, with screenshots showing exactly what to do. A “Frequently Asked Questions” section on this web page addresses agents’ questions about entering their Medicare contracts.

Add Other Plans and Carriers

With your current Medicare contracts entered on your account, many agents want to know what other plans and carriers the platform supports. HealthSherpa lists:

  • The Medicare plan types it supports

  • The carriers and their plan types that you can enroll in on the platform.

Once you start planning and shopping for your clients, you will need to consider your agent writing numbers and each carrier’s enrollment requirements. HealthSherpa provides a list of 19 carriers and the type of writing number agents will need to enroll people in their plans.

Ready to Sell (RTS) Setup, Especially for HCSC

You’re ready to sell when you confirm your writing number for a carrier! HealthSherpa needs to verify your RTS status with each carrier on its platform, and this is done automatically via carriers’ RTS Integrations.
HCSC (BCBSIL, BCBSMT, BCBSNM, BCBSOK, BCBSTX) doesn’t have this capability, so the RTS process must be done manually. Fortunately, HealthSherpa walks agents through step-by-step instructions on how to manually verify their RTS status with HCSC using screenshots that involve the following steps:

  • Add HCSC brands to your Carrier Settings

 

  • Gather proof of RTS

 

  • Gather your Producer ID(s)

 

  • Email HealthSherpa your RTS information

 

  • Review and approval

 

  • Reporting changes
